LR2 IS MOVING!

Thank You for your support of Lazy Rusters over the years!

Because of that support, I was able to get a new beefier server. This should squash all of the lag, rubberbanding, packet flood kicks, and all the other nonsense thats been happening on LR2 in recent months.

I originally put it up for vote as to if we should move mid-wipe, or wait until next month. The results are overwhelming positive for ASAP.

I'm slating the move for Friday morning-ish. Heres what you can do to prepare:

1: Always remember you can connect with: F1 -> client.connect lr2.lazyrusters.com - No matter where the server goes or what IP address it has, that will connect you.

2: Go find the new server now, and FAVORITE it. It is currently called: "SuperSecret - New LazyRusters II Server" - You wont be able to join it until Go-Live, but at least you'll be ready with it in your favorites, and not be searching around for it.

3: Plan for the downtime Friday morning. Don't wake up Friday and be like, I'm going to start the biggest most complex wiring job i've ever done in Rust! There is a possibility of a slight rollback. You don't want to dump a bunch of time into something, just for me to erase it.

4: Prepare yourself for bugs, missing permissions, etc.. It's possible you may loose a permission or two, or be put in the wrong group, or no group at all. I'm hoping I've covered all my bases with this, but it's best just to expect I forgot to do something, and we'll be fixing it after the server is live.

How its Going Down

First, I will boot everyone off of the current server. Then I will export everyones groups and permission. Then I will take a backup. I'll then move the backup to the new server, and restore everyones permissions. I'll do a couple spot checks and if everything looks good, I'll open up the new server.

Once the new server is up, I will leave the old server up for a while to catch any stragglers who dont about the move, because this was pretty short notice for most.

Don't think you'll go play on the old one though. When you log in it will just be a big black window with a notice that we've moved, and how to connect. You wont be able to close it.
